|Google’s Penguin algorithm update was first announced on April 24, 2012. The update’s purpose was aimed at decreasing certain search engine rankings of websites that violated Google webmaster guidelines.Websites that were in violation included sites that used black hat SEO techniques such as keyword stuffing, cloaking, participating in link schemes, deliberate creation of duplicate content and others.
On May 22, 2013 Google rolled out Penguin 2.0. Google has been working hard to show high-quality content and has rolled out this next update to address web spam in their search results.
Penguin 2.0 is a more comprehensive web spam algorithm that goes deeper than Penguin 1.0. Along with the black hat techniques that I have mentioned earlier, Google is looking at ads that violate their quality guidelines that pass page rank.
This algorithm update is supposed to affect 3.2% of all searches in the United States. If you think your web page ranking has been affected, please contact us to help you repair you position and increase your rankings in Google Search Results.
