The Hummingbird Update

Last week Google announced a brand new algorithm for its search engine called Hummingbird. The last time Google introduced a new algorithm was 2001.

Google launched this new algorithm to getting greater accuracy of results. Search results provided by the new hummingbird algorithm will reflect the full Semantic meaning of longer search phrases.

The hummingbird algorithm will move the emphasis of search from results to answers

The hummingbird algorithm will now consider question words like how, why, where, when in search phrases in addition to just content keywords and keyword phrases.

Google has made this algorithmic change because of the greater number of mobile and voiced based searches.

The hummingbird algorithm is expected to affect around 90% of all Google search results.
